About Ricky’s Ranch
Every Equine Deserves a Second Chance.
Located in the heart of horse and cattle country in Okeechobee County, Florida, Ricky’s Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit equine rescue dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses, wild mustangs, donkeys, and mules in need.
Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide aging, neglected, and unwanted horses with a safe, loving place to spend their golden years. Over time, that mission has grown into something much bigger.
Today, Ricky’s Ranch welcomes equines of all ages and backgrounds. Some have suffered neglect or abandonment. Others have been surrendered by owners who can no longer provide for them. Still others simply need someone willing to give them the time, patience, and care necessary to begin again.
We believe that an animal’s past should never determine its future.
From Rescue to Recovery
Rescuing an animal is just the first step. True rehabilitation requires time, dedication, and resources.
Every animal at Ricky’s Ranch receives individualized care based on its needs, including proper nutrition, specialized feeding programs, veterinary attention, farrier services, and the patience necessary to rebuild physical strength and trust.
Whenever possible, we work toward finding responsible, loving forever homes where these animals can thrive. For those whose age, health, or circumstances make adoption impractical, we remain committed to providing a safe, compassionate sanctuary.
We also participate in the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro Program, helping wild mustangs adjust to human interaction through patient gentling and training, preparing them for life in adoptive homes.
Your Support Makes Our Mission Possible
Caring for rescued equines is both rewarding and expensive. Hay, feed, veterinary care, farrier services, shelter, fencing, and facility maintenance are ongoing necessities, not occasional expenses.
As our mission has expanded, so has our need for resources, volunteers, suitable facilities, and compassionate people willing to help.
Every contribution makes a difference. Whether you donate toward daily care, sponsor an animal, volunteer your time, offer suitable foster or pasture space, or provide a loving adoptive home, you become part of an animal’s journey toward a better life.
When you support Ricky’s Ranch, you’re not simply helping us feed and care for animals. You’re helping us give them a future.
A Mission Built on Compassion and Trust
Ricky’s Ranch is a recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization (EIN: 92-3162221). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law, and our IRS determination letter is available upon request.
We are committed to transparency, responsible stewardship, and making every contribution count toward the care and well-being of the animals who depend on us.
Be Part of Their Second Chance
There are many ways to make a difference, and no act of kindness is too small.
Whether you’re interested in donating, volunteering, providing pasture or foster space, or adopting a rescued horse, mustang, donkey, or mule, we’d love to hear from you.
Because every animal deserves more than survival. They deserve the chance to thrive.
Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make second chances possible.
